- strive to first source from local farms, when feasible, to offer fresh produce and increase local economic viability while reducing transport time (carbon emissions); for produce not locally sourced, will target the mid-Atlantic region which requires less transport time than produce from the west coast
- strive to avoid the use plastics in the store, sourcing 'naked' produce, offering bulk choices and alternative eco-friendly packaging
HEALTH
- source non-GMO natural organic food and products free of chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, additives, artificial flavors and colors
- focus on plant-based food and product offerings (a few of our products may contain beeswax such as in medicinal salves, lip balms, etc.)
- provide a quality supplement section to fortify health
AFFORDABILITY
- competitively price organic and natural products; bulk choices will create savings for customers while also reducing consumer plastic packaging waste
- when margins are strong on specific product lines, discount the product (i.e. supplements, skincare, etc.) to compete with online competitors for customer savings
